maths problem solving



WALT solve subtraction problems by going back through a tidy ten.

I am in the squares math group and for the last few days we have been learning how to go back through a tidy ten to solve subtraction problems. This is when you take away the ones column to make a tidy then, then take off the remaining number.
Here is a picture of how to do it above.

Challenge yourself and solve these two problems below.
1. 47 - 8 =
47 - 7 = 40
40 - 1 = 39

2. 67 - 9 =
